The fish and chips in the restaurant are amazing!! Great service and relatively quick for quite a large group. Would recommend booking in advance. The take away fish and chips are not as good as the ones you eat in the restaurant.
I've eaten in and also had take-aways from Dave's a number of times now over the last few years. Every time it has been an enjoyable meal at a very good price. The fish and batter are always good and the chips, especially when new potatoes, are excellent.I like that they stock the Squeeze packets of sauce rather than the smaller much harder to get sauce sachets.The restaurant is comfortable but if you're having a takeaway it's in a walkable location for the seafront.
It had very nice fish and chips take away. we had a meal there and I had scampi. They even had a vegetarian option which was really nice. They have outside seating as well. So it is good to take away and eat in. I would recommend eating it on the seafront. That is really nice.
We took advantage of a very good family deal they had on - Something along the lines of 13.99 for our family of 3. Food arrived incredibly quickly and the staff were lovely. Batter on the fish was a little soggy, but the scampi was lovely and the chips were decent. The restaurant itself was clean, quiet and welcoming.
Between us we had fish n chips, pie n chips and sausage n chips - all fantastic and nothing left on our plates. Best chips tasted for a long time!! (Definitely ignore the review about a dirty fork - some people have nothing better to do). Great chippy!!!
